AI Email Helper – Privacy, Cookies & Terms

1. Introduction

Welcome to AI Email Helper, a Microsoft Outlook Add-in that enables users to summarise and draft email replies using AI models via their own API key (OpenAI or Azure OpenAI).

This add-in is client-side only. It runs fully in your browser context and does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers controlled by us.

2. Privacy Policy

🧠 What Data We Access

The add-in temporarily accesses the email content currently opened or composed by the user in Outlook. This content is used solely to generate AI-powered summaries or replies.

🔒 What Data We Store

We do not store any email content. All settings (like API key, selected model, and prompt customisations) are stored locally in your browser using localStorage.

🚫 No Server Communication

We do not send any data to third-party servers. Requests to the AI model are made directly from your browser to the provider’s API endpoint.

You are solely responsible for the use of your API key with OpenAI or Azure OpenAI.

📬 Email Access Scope

We only access the body of the email you are actively viewing or composing — and only when triggered by you (e.g., clicking “Summarise” or “Draft Reply”).

4. Terms of Use

By using this add-in, you agree to the following terms:

You are responsible for supplying your own valid API key from OpenAI or Azure OpenAI.
You agree to use the add-in in compliance with Microsoft’s Terms of Service and your AI provider’s API usage policies.
We are not liable for:
- Any AI-generated outputs,
- Any data loss,
- The performance of third-party AI APIs.
